Behasa Indonesia is the national language spoken throughout Indonesia. It is an easy to learn language with not a large amount of grammar. You can quickly communicate using Behasa Indonesia by learning a couple of new words each day prior to your stay in Indonesia or once you are their.
The Indonesian Rupiah has a great exchange rate with foreign currencies in-case you are planning to stay in Indonesia for an internship. most of the times a very affordable possibility. It is possible in Indonesia to take money from almost any ATM/money machine. Most of the Indonesian banks like BCA, Mandiri, Danamon support debit and or credit cards with a Meastro, Mastercard, or VISA logo on it.
As a country with a population of more than 230 million people there is plenty of daily news going round in the different parts of Indonesia. Central Java’s biggest news paper which also covers news in Semarang is the Suaramerdeka (Indonesian). For an insight in Bali’s news you can visit The Bali Times (Indonesian). And to get an indication on Indonesian television you can visit one of the television broadcasting channels: TVRI, Trans TV, Indosiar, RCTI, SCTV, ANTV, Trans 7, Global TV, Metro TV.
