In Bali you can live in one of the following types of accommodation with indicative price information: bungalows/apartments (€300-€450), hostel (€250-€350), backpacker rooms/Indonesian Koskos’an (€125-€175).


To go around, Bali has a couple of most commonly used means of transportation: Taxi short distance trips €1 – €4), Motorcycle taxi’s (short distance trips €1,5 – €3), Busway (short distance trips €0,5 – €1), Motorcycle (rent €60 and fuel €20/month).

For your basic shopping needs, you can choose between small stores and large supermarkets. Here some of the available stores and supermarkets: Circle K, Mini Mart, Carrefour Bali, Hypermart.


You can use both GSM or CDMA mobile phones in Bali. As long as your current mobile is unlocked you can choose from any of the following Indonesian mobile phone network providers: Indosat, Telkomsel, Esia.

Bali has many different shopping streets and some malls where you can shop, eat, lounge and relax all located in and around Kuta: Discovery Shopping Mall, Kuta Square, Jalan Legian. Beside these areas you can also visit Bud, Celuk Village, Gianyar.


Even though Bali has relatively few cinema’s compared to our other internship locations you can, in-case you want to go out and catch a movie, watch a movie at one of the following cinemas available in Bali: Cineplex 21, Cinema 21.

Bali has food from all over the world available at many different price ranges. Beside international food you will also find food from all the different parts of Indonesia at great dining places: Mozaic, Sky Garden, McDonalds, Pizza Hut. Beside these examples you can find good low budget dinners on Poppies I and Poppies II in Kuta.


If you like nightlife at the beach in a tropic climate you will be able to go out at many different clubs or café’s in Bali: Musro, Bounty Club, Hard Rock Cafe, Bacio Club, Mosche VVIP Club, Klapa, and many more. Clubs generally start to become busy around midnight and close between 03.00 and 08.00 oclock in the morning.

Bali has different Salons, Barbershops, Spa’s and Massage places from Kuta, to Den Pasar you can choose from a large range of service providers all with a different quality and price comparison.


In Bali there are plenty of places where you can swim, water ski, surf, join a local or international hash run, do go carts, go hang gliding. Beside this you can also relax on the beach or join cultural Balinese events and activities.

Bali has many internet cafe’s and also several places with Wifi hotspots of which you can choose for when you would like to connect with your own laptop/tablet with friends abroad or to browse the net: Coffee Bean, Starbucks, Mama’s German Restaurant. Beside this many Mini Marts at Kuta beach also have free wireless internet connections.


If you are staying in Bali you can explore great places on and around this island: visit Gili Islands or Lombok (by boat), Jakarta (by plane), Jogjakarta (by bus or plane), Semarang, Singapore (by plane). Beside this you can also visit Lovina beach, the Bedugul mountain lake, and see a great cultural ceremony at Tanah Lot.
